Tené Logan is the Program Administrator for HPPG and the Director of Serve Squad, a 501c 3 nonprofit college and career readiness and mentoring program for high school youth that HPPG supports. The program was recently featured in the Detroit Free Press. Tené’s focus on helping youth and helping families hold on to their properties from generation to generation through HPPG is motivated by the difficulties she experienced when she lost her mother to a brain tumor at 16-years-old. The lack of a Lady Bird Deed, which her mother was not aware of prior to her passing, caused the house to be thrown into probate turmoil for nearly 30 years! Tené was finally able to resolve the issues in 2023. But not before she almost lost the house to foreclosure and was forced to pay thousands of dollars in legal fees using credit cards. This experience made Tené determined to help other families avoid having a similar experience. She approached Sydney about creating a simple and affordable way for Michiganders to get peace and security about the inheritance process for their homes through Lady Bird Deed flat rate packages. Together they formed the HPPG team to help families protect their homes from loss, seizure, and family conflict. A portion of every package purchased goes to support the Serve Squad nonprofit program, which is tax deductible. HPPG also provides high school youth with an internship where they can earn a stipend while assisting with HPPG related projects. This gives them work experience, helps them contribute to themselves and their families, career readiness training, and helps them prepare for college and a project management certification. Tené is a native Detroiter, a graduate of Wayne State University, the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, and holds a B.A. in Political Science and Master of Public Policy, M.P.P. degrees. She is a Certified Senior IT Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified ITIL, who is passionate about helping underserved youth and giving back to her community. She is a member of the State of Michigan’s Apprenticeship Expansion Youth Subcommittee and the Michigan Out of School Time Committee. Her prior experience includes over 15 years of policy analysis, project management (PM), and public administration experience spanning fields that include: K-12, municipal and state government on behalf of the City of Detroit, State of Michigan, and global IT projects in the automotive field for Ford Motor Company. She has managed projects with over 100 team members both domestically and globally.
